We are using iNaturalist as the source of observations for the Ohio Dragonfly Survey.

To submit observations, you first need to sign in. If you have not already joined the Ohio Dragonfly Survey project yet, join the project, and tag your odonata observations with it.

When you are ready to submit observations, log into iNaturalist, and press the green 'Upload' button from any iNaturalist page, which will prompt you to select at least one photo.  Once you click OK it should upload your photos and look something like below. Detailed instructions, including video guides are available on the iNaturalist help page.

Use this page to update observation fields. By default, this is done individually for each observation. iNaturalist will always extract the capture date from your image and enter that into the second field. If your image is already geotagged, iNaturalist will use those GPS coordinates for the Location field, and if your image has a keyword that is a species name, or something that iNaturalist thinks is a species name, it will use it to populate the species name field.  If any of that data is wrong (and pay close attention to the species name), you can correct it.
If you are uncertain of the species name, choose something higher up in the taxonomy hierarchy. If you know its a dragonfly, or damselfly, type that in. If you have no idea what it is, but are certain it has 6 legs, choose insect.
