Spiketails

Cordulegastridae can be found flying up and down the streams where they breed, and may also be found perching in nearby sunny clearings. The Tiger Spiketail develops in headwater streams less than 1 foot wide, a habitat type that is often at risk, which is part of why they are listed as a family of concern.

Photo ID tips for Spiketails: Try to get a back and side shot of these species.
