Darners

Aeshnidae are relatively large dragonflies that spend most of their daylight time in continuous flight, sometimes hovering. They normally hang vertically while perching, but sometimes perch horizontally when basking.

Photo ID tip: Try to get shots of the side and back, with close ups of the top of the forehead and the side of the terminal appendages.
